$209.65...

Could be worse, I guess.

But now I have a dent.

join the club

Within two months of getting our subaru (which we named Tiny, btw), I dented it when closing the hatchback. So we have this obvious dip in our car's butt shaped like my hand. Well, not exactly. But there's still the asymmetrical dip.

Re: join the club

Do you have super strength, or are Subarus simply made out of putty nowadays?

fontanelle or achilles heel

I'm guessing I'm not superhuman, so I figure the car either had a soft spot like a babyhead where the frame had not yet developed, or I found the exact point of weakness on the Impreza hatchback, which is about 3 inches above and 6 inches to the right of the rear subaru logo.

I wouldn't put my money on the putty thing, because some dumbass last winter decided to stop her Taurus station wagon at the end of an icy bridge that one can only see the end of once they're practically on the bridge because she saw her ABS light come on. There was a nice broad shoulder 30 feet away, but no, she wanted to stop in the middle of the damn road. Anyway, I rear ended her (I've done this to Roy as well, though through no fault of his), cracked her bumper, and Tiny was in perfect shape. Course, this probably has to do with momentum being almost completely transferred to the motionless object, and also the fact that Tiny, despite her size, weighs like 3400 pounds or something, cuz of the 4wd.
