When I say bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz you say bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Went to Emo's tonight and saw Cex perform. I went there expecting electronic music, and wound up listening to an artist that would be perfect for NMCB. All the tracks were electronic, spewing forth from an i-mac (which Hektor informs me is the weapon of choice for electronic musicians these days). But Cex himself rapped over the tracks, keeping it real, and basically just coming up with hilarious stuff. Think Beck, but skinnier, and a little more focused.

The highlight of the perfomance was the freestyling at the end. He took topics from the audience (multidimensional levels, powder potions, etc..) and went from there. It was a beautiful piece, incorporating videogames and the beauty of Texas. I nearly cried. For the encore, he did another freestyle. This time, someone yelled out "Apple computers" and he said that it would be far too geeky, and that we needed something more manly. I yelled out "pirates" (which I had already been yelling out anyways), so the last song o' the night had pirates as one of its themes.
