Last night I went toiletry shopping, so naturally I went out of my way to stop off at the best Randall's in the world. As long as I was there, I thought I'd check in and see if my old car (the Beretta) was still safely parked at High Oaks (where La Grotto is). It had stopped working some time before I moved, so I had no way of getting it to HD-43 until I fixed it. And since I'm a lazy sod, this might have taken awhile. Fortunately, my apartment complex fixed this problem by towing it away.|
So today, after having a stimulating lunch with friends at the Clay Pit, I headed over to J & J Towing. Remember them, Wes? It ran me about 160 dollars to spring the beretta, plus 50+ dollars to get it towed again, this time to Human Dwelling 43. *sigh*. So I was out 217 bucks, or so it would seem.
Then, upon arriving home after work and noticing that the beretta has already been delivered, I check the mail. In this mail, filled with junk, advertisements, missing children, and other such riff-raff, is a letter from High Oaks. This is the letter I've been dreading for a month now, since I fully expected a bill for damages to the apartment above and beyond the deposit.
But lo and behold! It's a check. 240 bucks, which is pretty much my deposit + some of the pet deposit back, I believe. Let's see, carry the 1, draw the arrow... I'm now 23 bucks (hail eris!) ahead.
And now, Wes and some other folks are headed over to work on ideas for the Knighthood of Buh's latest venture, an audio comedy CD.
I also got the magical letter from the IRS telling me I'd be getting a check for 300 bucks on Sept. 3rd.
So take that, world.
how's your seat belt? did you ever get it unstuck?
In some ways, all of our seatbelts are still stuck.
What ever happened to the Olds?
heh. towed. The spot it was in for a year became "boats only", and the week after it found itself in violation and was towed. It was worth less than the paltry sum it would have cost to "rescue it", so I let 'em have it.
hehe. I sense a trend. How's the Mazda doing? ;)
