To boldly bar-hop where no one has bar-hopped before [Dec. 3rd, 2000|09:26 am]
Roy Janik
Quick rundown of the places Scott, Wes, and I went last night, in order:

Fados: Really crowded and noisy. The bartender lady recognized Wes as the guy that gave her the dollar bill shaped like an elephant. In fact, she pulled it out. I really need to cop some of Wes's skills.

Speakeasy: Didn't go in. Everyone was way too dressed up.

Buffalo Billiards: Poolhall. Hung out upstairs for awhile. Less crowded, and quiet enough to carry on conversations in. Nice. Some chick told us about a bar (next to Fados) that had Woodchuck Cider on tap. We went in search of it.

Some Place That Sucked: Went in for 3 minutes. It was small, cramped, and filled with assholes. We left... cuz it sucked. :)

Akuzara (not the real name): Couldn't get in, thanks to wearing tennis shoes. Dress code, schmess code.

Antone's: 5 dollar cover. We walked on.

Place Next to Antone's: Kindof loud. Upstairs, however, had coffee tables, and comfy couches. Sat around for awhile and people watched.

Fados: Walked through it as a "short cut". This was a bad idea, as it was really crowded still.

The Ginger Man: On our way back to the car, Wes said: "That's it". We went inside, and sure enough, they had Woodchuck on tap.

A few observations:
At no point did we hear any "live music". What happened to Austin?
Parking sucks! There's construction everywhere. We parked in the free parking garage. On top. At least we didn't have to try and remember where we parked.

Despite these setbacks, it was very fun. The question is, why am I up now? The world may never know.

yum yum.

oooh. love me some woodchuck (have you had the granny smith kind?)! the stuff is dangerous though, as it seems you're drinking apple juice and it goes much faster than normal beer.

hard to find on tap. congrats.

Re: yum yum.

I've tried all the variations. I have little experience with alcohol (compared to others, that is), so I tend to drink it all way too fast. Live and learn.
