I just wrote my first text adventure, ala Zork. It's not a very good one. In fact, here's the extent of it:

Hello world
[press any key to exit.]

But the cool bit is that it was written in Inform, a text-adventure-specific programming language, which compiles down to a "z machine" binary format. The "z machine" is what the old infocom games (zork, leather goddess of phobos, etc) run on. And thanks to GWALATOTH (Geeks With Amazingly Large Amounts of Time On Their Hands), there are z machine interpreters for every imaginable operating system, including cellphones and PDAs.

So hopefully my next adventure will be a little more extensive.
