sending hypercards to the metaverse [Oct. 3rd, 2003|07:55 pm]
Roy Janik
Tonight, in about 20 minutes, Kristin and I will be heading for Kemah/Santa Fe/Janik family central. We will spend the weekend hangin' with the family. Maybe we'll go to the zoo. Who knows. This will also be the first time most of my family has seen me since I weighed 206.5 pounds. So that should be fun.

My nephew Ryan is also hosting a student council barbeque at my brothers' house tomorrow. Part of me wants to show up and tell them to either do something useful or disband the whole thing. As a former president of their illustrious organization, I'm in a position to know just how useless such a thing can be.

For listening material on the trip, we've got the audiobook version of Snow Crash, one of those cyberpunk novels that did such a good job of predicting the internet's future back in the day.

In radio news, I put up last night's show, and the Brobdingnagian Bards' performance. As an added bonus, I finally uploaded the infamous Devil Went Down to a Lot of Places show:

live Brobingnagian Bards show ( or if you prefer, individiual tracks).

Tomorrow, everyone is going hiking without me. I'm glad some of you are buying shoes, though, because that means you have to go again. Pour some water out for me, my homies.

Finally, here's an actual scan of the Austin Chronicle's award for No Pants Day (click for larger version):
