Vacation was sorely needed, and is sorely missed.|
Thanksgiving this year was at The Bee House (Eric & Jenn's place), and Kristin and I were in attendance. The four of us, being gluttonous yuppies, decided to slack off and order a big honkin' meal from Central Market rather than cook stuff ourselves.
So on Turkey Day we found ourselves with 1 big ole turkey, 3 types of stuffing, mashed potatoes, two types of gravy, sweet potatoes, rolls, green beans, candied pecans, pumpkin pie, root vegetables and cranberry sauce. It was enough to feed 6-8 people restaurant sized portions. And it was really really good.
We didn't TOTALLY slack off though. Kristin made ice cream using a fancy new ice cream maker, which we happily used atop the pumpkin pie. There was enough left over to do it all again the next day, and this time Dave came along (and brought ham). More ice-cream was made every day of the weekend, so you know, it wasn't a very good vacation, weight-wise, but in all other regards it kicked ass.
I finally saw the final Matrix movie on Saturday night. It wasn't terrible, and it was a damn sight better than the 2nd one. Sadly, the new actress they had for the Oracle couldn't hold a candle to the original.
Game night on Sunday went well. We busted out Escape From Elba, Carcassonne, Apples to Apples, and Fluxx.
And then Eric stole my laptop. But he left me his, so it's cool.
Today after lunch we swapped back after counting to 3. I was pretty sure he had rigged mine with a bomb, but so far it appears to be okay.
