I haven't had any caffeine to speak of this month until now. I just had an iced mojo and it's totally messing me up. Whether it's the sugar or the caffeine, I don't know, but it's incredible. Sadly, I'm going to need a lot more this week if I'm to finish my novel in time. I'm not even halfway through (almost), and I've got 8 days left. Yipes.
Chimpy was now pretending to play a game of monkey-in-the-middle, apparently. He kept running back and forth between Bonzo and Sally, hooting and looking into the air. Bonzo could almost see the ball that Chimpy desperately wanted to grab.
After a few minutes of this, Sally picked up Chimpy, laughing, and placed him on her shoulder. He was a little too big for this, so he scrambled around until he was safely sitting atop her back, legs dangling on either side of her. Sally approached Bonzo, and he jumped down to the ground, apprehensive. Like a two headed beast, each head more repulsive than the next, Sally and Chimpy stared down at him.
"Sit!" Sally said, and Chimpy echoed her command with a hoot.
Bonzo sat. I sit today, but soon you will kneel.
"Beg!" Sally said. Eee-eee, said Chimpy.
Bonzo stood on his hind legs and barked. Soon you will beg me for your life, little one. I will not be merciful.
"Play dead!" Sally said. Chimpy clasped his hands above his head and made a kissy face.
Bonzo lay on his back, still. This is a trick I can teach you, too, Sally.
"Speak!" Sally said. Chimpy jumped up and down on Sally's back, nearly falling off in his excitement.
"When Attila comes," Bonzo said, "I will rip your fucking heart out and feed it to Chimpy."
