Yesterday was quite chocked-full of activity.
First up was improv class at noon. No, scratch that. First up was running, at 10. 4.1 miles. Next up was improv class. But not enough people showed up, so we postponed it for a week. Wes, Dave, Kareem and I walked around downtown Austin for a bit, to kill some time. I wanted to go to Noodleism, but couldn't remember where it was. In our wanderings, we came across KOOP radio, so I went in and signed up for training sessions in April. So the Nummy, or its spawn, may eventually one day come back. hooray.
We found Noodleisms, ate, went to a hat store and tried on silly hats, and made our way back to the Hideout. I got bored reading crappy magazines so I went outside and played my two songs on the ukulele. I quickly discovered that "When You're Dead" is an excellent song to play on the street, because no matter what point in the song someone walks by, they're always taken aback by the lyrics.
At 4:00 was a special improv workshop. It was strange, because it was Dave, Kareem, Wes and me, and a bunch of improvisers with much more experience than us. But after some initial rough spots on my part, it started to be a lot of fun. By the end we were doing some quite long scenes, and they actually worked.
Kareem and Dave and I went back to the moonbase and watched some of the new TMBG ABC video, and then Kareem and I went back to the Hideout to watch a comp viewing of Gorilla Theatre.
And then, after all that was a party at Christina and Tan's new house-type place. It was fun, and I talked to lots of people. Saw Ryan, Long, and Matt from KVRX, too. Drank a lot, but didn't get overly drunk, which is nice. Played some concertina and uke.
P.S. This shirt really says "SEND HELP" but in this picture, it looks it says FN, which would be pretty awesome, too:
