In keeping with yesterday's holy vow today is Moonbase rennovation/cleaning day. DM-1 *is* in sore need of cleaning, but I decided that I should do something more lasting to kick off the effort. This one isn't terribly exciting, but it is something that needed to be done. For half a year, I guess, the closet door in the yellow room has been off its hinge. Like so:

People have tried and failed to fix it before. But today I managed to find all the missing screws and whatnot and put it back in place:

Man, that was exciting, wasn't it?

What crazy thing will I do next?

Also, yes,  I should've used the DMP logo for this post, but I wanted to show off my new ukulele icon. Deal.

When it's time for Dinosaur Moon Drapes, let me know. Or home improvement projects in general. I love 'em.

Two for two? Better than my best life-improvement streak.

Tub.

I'm leaving home improvement to the professionals. All I'm capable of is rearranging piles of crap into slightly differently organized piles of crap. And shredding things. As I scan more, I shred more so there's some reduction in overall volume of crap. This takes on more import since tomorrow at 8am. a crew of contractors is arriving to reduce my bathroom to dumpster-sized chunklets and replace it with something less grotty. It may even sparkle. I need to clear a path through the crap so they can get the new sparkly tub in place. Ah, new tub.

Re: Tub.

HA!
Inspired less by Roy's cleaning than by the smouldering mess piling up in my own abode, I, too, decided to clean a little yesterday. I thought I would basically start with my desk. What I had to show for it when I was done was a 13 gallon trash bag at least 3/4 full of shredded documents.
I figured that if I moved them into another pile with the intent of parcing where they go later, I'd never actually find time to do it. So it was either immediate placement in a file folder or the shredder.

Nice before and after pictures.

I give this project a rating of a 7/10.

I give it about a 3. Wait until I break out the paint, or cut holes in the wall.

Yeah, maybe I was being too nice with that rating.

It occurs to me at this moment how very satisying it is to fix things that have been broken for a long time but take little effort to repair. Taking care of business is what it feels like, boy howdy.

Awesome. Now, the next time we play "Truth-or-Dare" at DM-1, Seven Minutes of Heaven will be an option for dares.
