If you haven't seen Serenity yet, but you're curious, you can now watch the first 9 minutes online in as high a quality as your connection can support.

If anyone wants to go see it this weekend, I'd be up for it.

It picked up some number of months after the show. There was a 3-issue comic series that set up the in-between I think.
Did you see the River Tam Sessions? Pretty cool. If not, definitely check them out (try getting the complete set which is all of them in order).

I will go if you confirm it is not as cheesy as the trailer/advertisements depict it.

well, as you know, I have a high tolerance and love for cheese. But that being said, I would argue that the strength of Serenity lies in the relationships of and the interplay between the crew and main characters. The trappings of space certainly play a big role, but the core is a real story about people.

I feel like I should watch all the episodes before seeing the movie. Is this true?

I've talked to quite a few people now who hadn't seen the episodes beforehand, and they still thoroughly enjoyed it. So I say it this weekend while the overall box-office take still matters.

Soooo excited about this movie. Apparently, they're only making a 2nd one if the first financially justifies it (in the box office, I believe, as opposed to rentals). It's important to see it (at least) twice.
