Today I started looking at panoramics of national parks, and nearly lost it. I don't know why, but I could feel tears welling up. I think it was just the beauty of what's out there versus my day-to-day surroundings. I felt ridiculous, crying at work over some crappy java applet.

So I decided to go to the "Bull Creek Watershed" for lunch. I grabbed a sammich and headed down there. It's this park that goes along a creek for a good ways, in and amongst expensive houses in the hills near the Arboretum. I ate my lunch and walked a little ways. I meant to turn back, but then I decided to see if I could find my car by just going on the trail and coming out on the right street.

I hiked and hiked, but couldn't find an exit. I eventually lost the trail, so I just clung to the creek. I saw two deer. I kept hiking, and finally made it out onto a street, figuring I could find my way to the major road I'd come in on. I wasn't having much luck, and I noticed the sky start to darken.

So I eventually found another entrance back into the park. And it was only a matter of minutes before I found the trail I'd originally been on. So I started making my way back when it started to rain. It was a cold rain, and it came on heavy and thick. So I got thoroughly, completely drenched. Made my way back to the car and drove back to work.

And when it rains, it pours.

It's true. As soon as I walked outside to my car, the sky opened up and poured down on me.
