Just got an e-mail from my Artificial Intelligence prof. detailing everyone's grades by social security number, and ranked by numerical grade.
First, the bad news:
I got a 63 on my final, and a 75.13 for my overall grade. I came in 22nd out of the 26 students in the class. Take all of this combined, and the old Roy would have been devastated. He would have walked around for weeks in a stupor and felt that he was worthless.
But that was the old me. I, on the other hand, am ecstatic. For one, I shouldn't have passed this class, by any stretch of the imagination. I didn't know what I was doing, I was extremely busy, and there was severe emotional trauma getting in the way for awhile.
And.... My 75.13 somehow translates into a B! Figure that one out. Our prof. never gave any hint that he would translate grades in any way other than the standard distribution, but he did. So not only did I pass, I but I got a B.
I'll stop rambling now.
A final word from our boys Pain:
You can whine until your mouth runs dry,
You can hang your head and wonder why,
You can die or you can stand upright
and never go down again.
