There's a lot of new excitement in Tuesday's life, whether she wants it or not. Last Tuesday we took her to the first day of obedience class at PetSmart. There were about 6 puppies in all. Tuesday handled herself wonderfully, except that walking on the floor of PetSmart freaked her out. She often would just sit and refuse to move, poor thing. Once in the class, though, she handled herself well. She didn't bark or cause a fuss, and we worked on training her with this clicker thing to help with rewards/training. We also worked on getting her to make eye contact.
This morning I took her to her first day/evaluation for doggy play day, at the Taurus Training Center. Basically, it's a place you can take your dog during the day so that they'll get to hang around other dogs and exercise. This is important, since puppies need to be socialized. Tuesday's still pretty nervous around other dogs. But curious, too, so maybe it'll work out. I hope so. The plan is to take her there once or twice a week.
Once again, when we got out of the car, she just sort of sat down and didn't want to move. So I just carried her in, which is one advantage of having a small dog. The people there, as Kaci predicted, loved her, and fauned over her. And they promised to call me halfway through the day to give me a progress report, so that's good. I took a brief tour. It's not like super-luxurious or anything, but it seemed well designed. There's basically two kennel rooms, where the dogs rest for a few hours. They're taken out in groups for 30 minutes at a time. The groups are split up by dog-size and temperament. So your dog gets to play at least 3 or 4 times a day.

Tuesday has been better behaved lately. She's been good about only going to the restroom in/around her pen or outside. And we've been consistently taking her outside to go as soon as we take her out of the pen, which has helped a lot. And she doesn't seem to be biting as much, either.
