|milk will make me strong, you say.

Kaci and I have been watching LazyTown lately. If you don't know what it is, don't look it up. You'll hate it. |
ANYhow, there's a song that the chirpy young heroine sings called "There is Always a Way"... a pretty common theme in children's shows/songs/workbooks/whatever... that you should never give up and keep on trying, because if you persevere, you can always find a way to succeed. It's a nice enough sentiment, and I do agree that by and large ACTING like there's always a way will serve you well... but sometimes there just isn't.
This lesson was driven home forcefully to me with the milk challenge. The challenge is to drink a gallon of chocolate milk in an hour and keep it down without throwing up. It seems like it can be done. Everyone thinks they can do it. But you can't. You just can't do it. You will make yourself sick, and you be a damned fool. I watched 20 people in the Knighthood of BUH try it and fail. And everyone who we told this cautionary tale to later on said "*I* could do that easily." They can't. You can't. Right now you are thinking you can, but you can't.
So yeah. There's not always a way.
