Roy Janik

Dear lord. I may never drink again. Last night, I sunk to a new low. I got mildly tipsy, and ordered a concertina. Okay, so I wanted one, but who here actually thinks I'll learn to play it?

***cricket noise***

I've been angling for an accordion for some time, but I was afraid that the complexity of the thing would make me never actually learn to play it. The concertina has several things going for it:

1) It's smaller, and has only 20 buttons.
2) It is commonly used to play Irish/Celtic music
3) It's hexagonal.

I can't wait to figure out how to play "Rape Me" on the thing.

At the very least, it will be a conversation piece:

"What's that?"
"It's a bass guitar."
"Oh, you play bass?"
"And what the hell is that?"
"It's a concertina. It's like an accordion, but smaller."
"Cool! How long have you played?"
"Oh, I don't."
*silence, as a tumbleweed rolls through the room*
